WANT TO UP YOUR Sales Skills?

STEPS 10-12 CLOSING THE DEAL AND ENSURING LONG-TERM HAPPINESS FOR YOUR PARTNER

I believe that winning in sales is very similar to dating and meeting a new partner and I have developed a 12-stage model which I believe everyone can resonate with.

STEP 10: THE WEDDING DAY

Transacting and signing contracts

The is the time to close the deal or officiate the relationship.
Plenty of couples separate after getting engaged but before getting married and there is still a lot that can go wrong between this stage and the last.
Sales is no different. Whilst it is always good to get the verbal or even email confirmation that a prospect wants to go ahead with you, until the contracts are signed, or money is paid, it isn’t done yet!

STEP 11: A GREAT HONEYMOON

Delivering on the promises you made

It is now essential at this stage that you deliver on your promises and do what you say you will. The initial time after a customer has purchased is the ‘honeymoon period’ and this doesn’t just have dating elements to it.
In this period, you have built up credit with your new customer as they were impressed enough with you to choose you. Deliver on what you promise and show them that you are true to your word and these new customers will become disciples for you and your business.

STEP 12: A HAPPY MARRIAGE

Long term client happiness and referrals

At this final stage you have to continue to wow your customer, in the same way that you would continue to please your spouse. Relationships need to be worked at, your husband or wife needs to feel loved, valued and appreciated- as do your customers.
Happy customers will sing your praises, shout your name from the rooftops and refer you to others!
In sales, you must be prepared for prospect objections and know how to overcome them.
